Ione Skye, the beautiful American bride, was draped in a green and gold embroidered wedding sari.
Ione looked like a radiant Indian bride, her face adorned with distinctive Indian jewellery and her hair decorated with fragrant jasmine flowers which is traditionally popular in Southern India.
Her hands were intricately decorated with henna during the traditional ‘mehendi’ ceremony.
The wedding was attended by an intimate gathering of family and friends who travelled to India for the ceremony including Australian ARIA award-winning Missy Higgins and American actor Josh Radnor.
The reception was held at a nearby guest house before Ben and Ione arranged for the wedding guests to visit the orphanage where they entertained the children.
Ben Lee has visited India on numerous occasions seeking the spiritual guidance from Swami Sakthi Narayani Amma and committing to charities in India and around the world so the decision to get married in Malaikodi, Southern India was a significant one.
